Manipur: Traffic advisory issued for Assembly sitting

The 6th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly will begin from July 31.

The Manipur government has issued advisory on traffic regulation and route diversions in view of the forthcoming 6th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly sitting slated to begin on Wednesday at the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

As per the latest notice issued by Superintendent of Police Traffic Control Police Wing, Wungpam Kasar on Monday, all heavy/commercial vehicles will be diverted from Sangakpham road to Salangthong; Khongnang ani karak to Dingku road towards Lamlong bridge and MMTA.

The statement also mentioned that there will be traffic diversions from Watham Leirak to Thangmeiband road towards Khuyathong; Khuyathong to LIC and Singjamei to Pishumthong. No commercial/heavy vehicles will be allowed to pass through the road stretch from Khongnang ani karak to Lilasing Khongnangkhong, it stated.

It further said that there will be no diversions for any such vehicle detailed/engaged for emergency services/duties. The measures have been taken in public interest and safety of the general public except the vehicles of the VVIP/VIPs till the session is over, it added.
