In view of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Manipur, the state has tightened security at various parts of Imphal West district.
During his visit, Amit Shah would inaugurate projects worth over Rs 300 crore and lay the foundation stones for projects worth around Rs 1,000 crore.
District commando Imphal West on Wednesday conducted house-to-house search operation and verification of bailouts/criminals in the adjoining areas of Kwakeithel Lamdong and Konjeng Leikai area, Imphal West.
The operation was conducted from 6:10 am to 8:00 am during which around 70 houses were searched and 150 individuals, including 11 bailouts verified. However, no individuals were detained for further verification.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh mentioned in a Facebook post that he chaired a meeting with all the ruling MLAs and discussed the developmental initiatives and projects of the state. The meeting deliberated on preparation of the Union home minister’s visit to the state, he added.
Meanwhile, the chief minister along with ministers and MLAs have been inspecting the preparation of various developmental works which Amit Shah would inaugurate during his visit to the state on January 6.
