The Keithelmanbi Solam Baptist Church, KBC Gambih No 5 felicitated Manipur's new Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen at the church campus during a thanksgiving and blessing ceremony on Sunday.
It was the first appearance of the re-elected MLA of Kangpokpi assembly constituency Nemcha Kipgen as a cabinet minister.
Nemcha was allotted Textiles, Commerce, and Industry department apart from the Cooperation department after being sworn in as a cabinet minister.
The minister also made her first appearance as a newly re-elected MLA, before she was sworn in as a minister, during a Gospel visual album releasing ceremony organised by the same church on the same avenue.
Reverend Jamkhohao Haokip attended the occasion as a thanksgiving and blessing minister.
Building secretary of the Church Lamminthang Kipgen said that minister Nemcha Kipgen played a major role in the upliftment of the church and made contributions towards the 'Ministry of God.'
He continued that the church wishes to see her succeed in her new endeavours as a cabinet minister of the state towards building a better Manipur through the various departments allotted to her.
“We also felicitate her on being sworn in as a cabinet minister with the new portfolios recently allotted,” he added.
Nemcha Kipgen said, “It is nothing but a blessing of God to serve the people of Manipur once again and I will play my part sincerely and commit myself towards building a better Manipur through the various departments allotted to me."
Jamkhohao Haokip led the thanksgiving and blessing prayer for the minister.
The church also presented a memento and other gifts to the minister as a mark of gratitude and felicitation during the programme.
Promising Thadou Kuki gospel singers such as Lunngaineng Touthang, Lhingjoycy Khongsai, Kimminnei and Sasang also attended the programme and enthralled the crowd with their melodious voices.
An offering was also made by Lunjagou Kipgen, head deacon of the Church.
