SSU Singjamei overcame Sagolband United by a solitary goal in the last league match of the 14th Manipur State League 2021 sponsored by Kh. Joykishan Singh and played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
However, despite the defeat Sagolband United made it to the quarter final along with SSU. Sagolband United finished the league round winning 4 matches, lost 3 and 1 drawn game for 15 points while SSU got 14 points from 3 wins, 5 drawn games and 1 lost match.
SSU Singjamei's lone goal in the match was scored by H.Snital in 37 minute of play. Two Sagolband United players Kipgen, Henry and SSU player Commander got booked with yellow cards for reckless foul from referee Joysing Monshang.
In the other match, TRAU FC beat YUFC Ukhrul by 2-1 goals. Both teams failed to make it to the quarter final stages of the MSL.
Danish Aribam in 35 minute and Rk.Chiranjan in 54 minute scored the goal for TRAU FC while the lone goal for Yarkhok United was made by Blessing Keishing in 15 minute of play. TRAU players Danish and Bikash received yellow cards in the match.
TRAU FC collected 7 points from eight matches they played, winning 2, losing 5 and drawn 1 games while YUFC have managed to get 5 points from 1 win, 2 draw and 5 lost matches.
It can be mentioned that only the top four teams from the two groups qualify for the quarter final round, which will begin from January 24. The top eight teams are KLASA Keinou, Sagolband United, SSU Singjamei, KIYC Khetrigao in Group A while in Group B are AFC Thoubal, UKB Churchandpur, Muvanlai Athletics, AIM Khabam.
