Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh president M Tombi announced on Wednesday that he will depart for Delhi and Mumbai on Thursday to mount pressure on the central party leaders to urge the Central government to restore peace in Manipur.
Speaking at the state party headquarters in Babupara, Imphal, Tombi asserted that no power can disintegrate Manipur. He stated that the Indian government should recognise that those attacking the Meitei community do not belong to Indian soil. He emphasised that the Central government should not delay in addressing the issue in Manipur.
Tombi plans to meet with Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena Union Minister Pratap Rao Yadav, and various party MPs during his visit to Delhi and Mumbai.
“The present crisis is instigated by Myanmarese elements within Indian territory,” Tombi said.
He further noted that cooperation from all political parties is necessary to restore peace in Manipur. Tombi also intends to present public demands for the replacement of the security advisor to the Manipur Government, Kuldiep Singh, and the DGP of Manipur.
He criticised the current Security Advisor and DGP for their alleged failure to manage the escalating situation in Manipur over the past year. Tombi argued that their positions are no longer necessary and that the authority should be returned to the Manipur government.
