Manipur Shiv Sena on Saturday condemned the assault on a journalist allegedly by a gang of drug abusers and peddlers at Hatta Golapati in Imphal East.
It stated in a release that the party condemned the assault on the media person allegedly by a gang of drug peddlers at Hatta Golapati.
Based on a tip off about a gang of drug abusers and peddlers functioning at Hatta Golapati, the media person had arrived at the area to catch the culprits, it added. Then the gang allegedly started shooting guns and used various weapons to make an attempt on the lives of the media person, it continued.
It stated that the miscreants continued attacking even after the media persons identified themselves, stating that the journalist was injured in the incident. It urged the authorities concerned to take up necessary action against the miscreants immediately.
