Manipur: Resident of Laisoi Relief Camp dies

The deceased had been living in the relief camp since May 3, 2024.

In a tragic incident, a 45-year-old man residing at the Laisoi Relief Camp under Keibul Lamjao Police Station in Bishnupur district, Manipur passed away on Tuesday around 10.30 am.

The deceased has been identified as Asem Inao, 45, son of (L) A. Lukhoi of Thingkangphai Makha Leikai in Churachandpur District. He had been living in the relief camp since May 3, 2024. Inao is survived by his wife, two sons, and one daughter.

As per sources, Inao was engaged in electrical repairs when he paused due to the rain and returned to his room. After having lunch, he complained of spinal pain and subsequently lost consciousness. He died on the way to the hospital.

His family and others believe he may have suffered a stroke due to high blood pressure.

An unnatural death case has been registered at Keibul Lamjao Police Station. Meanwhile, a team from the State Forensic Science Laboratory investigated the scene, and deposited his body to RIMS morgue for a postmortem examination.
