After an 18-day hiatus due to severe flooding in Manipur, the Raj Medicity has announced to reopen its doors to the public from Monday, offering a full range of medical services including dialysis.

The announcement was made by the hospital’s managing director H Rajen at a press briefing held on Sunday.

Rajen informed that the hospital was forced to evacuate 62 in-patients, including post-operative patients, and 25 dialysis patients as the floodwaters compromised the facility’s infrastructure.

The evacuation was necessitated by a complete power outage, adding to the complexity of the situation, he said, expressing regret for the disruption caused to the patients.

The MD extended his gratitude to the dedicated teams of Imphal West DC Kirankumar, Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta, NDRF, AR, and Arambai Tenggol that played crucial roles in ensuring the safe transfer of patients to other facilities.

“Over 80 patients depend on Raj Medicity for dialysis services, which are not readily available in many other hospitals,” Rajen stated.

He assured the public that dialysis services would resume as usual, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to providing essential healthcare services despite the challenges.

Raj Medicity has been offering free treatments to victims of the ongoing crisis in Manipur since May 3, 2023.

The recent flood inflicted significant damage on the hospital’s infrastructure, affecting critical facilities such as the CT scan, X-ray machines, the oxygen pipeline, the electric panel, the fire-fighting system, and various stored items.

Despite these setbacks, the hospital has worked tirelessly to restore its services and facilities.
