With the issuance of notification for the second phase of the Manipur Assembly Election 2022, the poll preparations in Thoubal and Kakching districts is gaining momentum. In connection with the second phase of the election, a virtual meeting on ‘Election Expenditure for Thoubal and Kakching districts’ was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall.
Expenditure observers, namely IR and TAFS in charge of Lilong, Thoubal and Wangkhem assembly constituencies Manishkumar Gupta; ICAS, in charge of Heirok, Wangjing-Tentha and Khangabok assembly constituencies Kapil Dev Meena, and IRS (C and CE), in charge of Wabagai, Kakching, Hiyanglam and Sugnoo assembly constituencies Dev Prakash Barmanavat interacted with the in-charge of Election Expenditure and Monitoring teams concerned.
The teams highlighted all the preparation which they have taken up for the upcoming election to the observers during the video conference meeting.
In the meeting district election officer and Thoubal district deputy commissioner A Subhash Singh said the district administration is preparing for a smooth conduct of free and fair elections by following the COVID-19 protocol.
SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam apprised the observers that necessary security measures are being implemented including the daily liquor drive in Thoubal and Kakching districts. He also said that 50 checkpoints have been set up for maintaining strict vigil.
SP Kakching Shrey Vats; returning officers Khedananda Potsangbam and Ksh Umananda Singh; AC to DC A Ruhinikumar; district nodal officer MCMC Tenshubam Sangeeta; district nodal officer excise P Ranjit Singh; second OC, district nodal officer for expenditure management M Angam Kabui and district nodal officer for income tax L Ramcharan attended the meeting.
