Manipur: One unauthorised bunker removed

Search operations conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Kakching and Thoubal districts.

Security Forces on Sunday removed one unauthorised bunker at Santipur area in Bishnupur district, Manipur.

According to the Manipur Police Control Room, the situation in the state was tense over the last 24 hour but under control with sporadic incidents of congregations of protestors.

Search operations were also conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Kakching and Thoubal districts, the police said.

The police stated that a total of 133 nakas/checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 2,260 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state.

It then appealed to the general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos.
Any circulation of unfounded videos etc may be confirmed from the rumour free number - 9233522822 of Central Control room, the police said further appealing to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
