Manipur: One arrested for invalid ILP card

The migrant who was arrested without a valid inner line permit card has been running a shop at Masjid Road, Paona Bazar, Imphal.

A team of Inner Line Permit (ILP) mobile team, Imphal West on Wednesday detected one migrant without a valid inner line permit card from Masjid road, Paona Bazar in Imphal.

The person has been identified as one Ashok Kumar Gupta, 44, son of Shiv Govind Prasad, Ward Number 2, Jaj Bazar Bihiya, Bhojpur, Bihar presently staying at Masjid Road, Paona Bazar, Imphal.

The team detected Ashok while conducting an ILP drive led by the ILP Mobile team in-charge of Imphal west, sub-inspector P Siddhartha Singh. He was arrested by the team at around 12.10 pm as he was found with invalid ILP card.

Ashok has been running a shop at Masjid Road, Paona Bazar, Imphal.

A case has been registered at the city police station under FIR number 1052(8)2024 city ps, U/S 223 BNF and Bengal Frontier Regular Act, 1873.

Later, the arrested person was produced in front of JMIC, Imphal West-I where assistant sub inspector, RK Chinglensana submitted a chargesheet.

The court ordered that the accused has to pay a fine of Rs 2,000 for violation of the relevant Act. And further instructed for timely renewal of the ILP card.
