Manipur observes World Patient Safety Day

The observation was jointly organised by Shija Hospital & Research Institute Pvt Ltd, Association of Healthcare Provider India (AHPI) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) at IMA house, Imphal.

Manipur also joined the rest of the globe in observing World Patient Safety Day under the theme ‘Get it Right, Make it Safe’ on Tuesday.

In the state, the observation was jointly organised by Shija Hospital & Research Institute Pvt Ltd, Association of Healthcare Provider India (AHPI) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) at IMA house, Imphal.

Speaking on the occasion, director of Health Services O Sanahanbi emphasised that timeliness was key in treatment of any illness or diseases.

“Keeping communications open with the family and careful examination of the patient’s history is crucial in implementing the right treatment strategy,” she said.

She exhorted families of patients to cooperate with the health care workers who are working to ensure the best treatment possible for their wards.

She further stated that there were no major differences between private and government diagnosis centres in Manipur.

“They all have been approved after external and internal quality control assessment,” she added.

Former president of IMA Manipur Dr Shyamkumar Laishram, president of AHPI Manipur state chapter Dr Kh Palin and director of Medical Service, Shija Hospital Research Institute Dr Jugindra among others were present at the event.
