The trend of sudden announcement of government decision and policy and issueing of orders without thinking through has often rendered the common man and the public helpless and confused. In view of it, as the public struggle to survive the pandemic, the All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPC) demanded the authorities concerned to formulate a comprehensive short and long term policy to fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

AMYPC president L Shyam Khuman said in a release that the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the state severely in many ways with consistent surge in daily COVID-19 positive cases. It is high time the state review the steps which were already taken earlier so as to implement more effective policy.

It said that the loopholes in governance by the state government and people’s negligence are the root causes in bringing the state to this critical condition of the pandemic. The negligence has impacted many people especially the financially backward families and daily wages earners, and many have lost their lives.
