Employees of the Manipur Power department have threatened to take mass casual leave for three consecutive days starting from Monday (July 25) if they are not paid their pending salaries by Friday, July 22.

The decision came after a flash meeting of the employees under MSPDCL and MSPCL held on Wednesday at the Corporate Office of MSPCL in Keishampat, Imphal West.

The employees of both MSPDCL and MSPCL have not been paid their salary since May and as such, they are facing hard times in maintaining their respective families, said one S Gunindro while speaking to the media on behalf of all the employees in Imphal.

He said that as the employees have no other means to demand their rightful salary, they are compelled to serve such an ultimatum to the concerned authorities for mass casual leave.
