One missing person was found dead near Pangzawl village cemetery, Churachandpur district at around 11 am on Tuesday. 

The body, draped in traditional tribal shawl, was found by members of Zomi Youth Association and family members of the deceased while searching in the forest area near Pangzawl cemetery. Family members identified the body as Liankholam, 55, of Leijangphai village under Thanlon assembly constituency. Reportedly, he visited Lamka town on October 30 and had been missing since then.

According to police, the cause of the death is suspicious as blood was oozing from the ears of the body. After informing the district magistrate, forensic experts were called from Imphal till the time of filing this report.

The deceased had carried a black colour bag and his mobile phone was switched off since the day he went missing.
