Manipur: Man attempts to stab BSF personnel

A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to stab a BSF ASI who was discharging his duty at Sugnu Awang Leikai Koubok under Sugnu Police Station in Kakching District, on Saturday around 8 am.

A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to stab a BSF ASI who was discharging his duty at Sugnu Awang Leikai Koubok under Sugnu Police Station in Kakching District, on Saturday around 8 am.

As per sources, the man approached the area riding a bicycle and tried to stab the BSF ASI, identified as Sunil Kumar with a Khukri.

The same sources said, the man, identified as Meisnam Manihal, 22, son of Meisnam Ingocha of Sugunu Wapokpi Chingdol Leikai, stopped his bicycle in front of the BSF bunker and washed his hand using water from potholes. Suddenly, he tried to stab Sunil Kumar with his Khukri. However, Manihal ran away from the scene after Sunil tried to protect himself by pushing him away.

Following which, he informed about the incident to the BSF team’s commander.

Later, the man was arrested and handed over to Sugnu Police Station along with the Kukri.
