Manipur man arrested for signature forgery in 'transfer circulation'

The accused circulated a transfer and posting order of 15 IPS and MPS officers in the social media after forging the signature of the under secretary, police said.

Manipur Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly forging the signature of under secretary (DP) Zorisang Thiek Pangote in Imphal.

The police have identified the accused as one 34-year-old Khuraijam Roshinikumar, son of Kh.Ningthem of Tera Khamnam Leirak, Imphal West, Manipur.

The accused circulated a transfer and posting order of 15 IPS and MPS officers in the social media after forging the signature of the under secretary, police said.

The man was arrested on Monday following a complaint lodged to the Imphal police station by the under secretary himself on September 27.

Following the complaint, police lodged a case of cheating by impersonation and forgery for the purpose of cheating. During the investigation with hectic effort, the police were able to nab the culprit, the police added.
