Locals of Keishamthong Hodam Leirak under Imphal Police Station staged a one-day sit-in-protest decrying the bomb blast at residential area at Hodam Leirak beside Tiddim Road on Thursday.
General secretary of Hodam Leirak Yumjao Lairembi, Pheiroijam Memchatombi, told media on the sideline of the protest that they strongly condemned the incident in the residential area.
She appealed to the miscreants to clarify immediately as to why they exploded the bomb in residential area which could injured innocents.
Drawing the attention of state government, Memchatombi said the place where the bomb exploded is near the Keishampat junction where there is tight security and government should investigate the matter seriously.
She also said some non-locals are working as construction workers and there are no monetary demands from any unlawful organisations.
It may be mentioned that miscreants exploded an IED at an under-construction building in Keishamthong Hodam Leirak under Imphal Police Station around 6.40 pm on Wednesday.
Police said the bomb exploded on the first floor of the under-construction building, which belongs to Khangembam Radhapyari, 80, wife of (L) Kh Iboyaima of Keishamthong Hodam Leirak.
