Manipur: Keirak residents protest Army Chief's remarks

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi allegedly claimed there had been no drone bombings by Kuki during the ongoing crisis in Manipur.

The Keirak United Development and Keirak Apunba Meira Paibi staged a sit-in-protest at Keirak Yawabung Market Shed on Monday, over the controversial remarks of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi in a recent interview, where he claimed there had been no drone bombings by Kuki during the ongoing crisis in Manipur.

The protestors held various placards which read as ‘we condemn Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi remarks which misrepresent Meitei in this crisis’, ‘stop the proxy war’, ‘end India’s policy to eradicate Meitei’, ‘withdraw Assam Rifles from Manipur’, ‘Down Down Chief General Upendra Dwivedi’ and ‘restore normalcy in Manipur’.
