Manipur: Heirok Meira Paibi against CAPF deployment

The Central government has reportedly planned to station 50 companies of CAPF in 13 districts of Manipur, concerning the ongoing violence in the state.

The meira paibis of Heirok on Saturday raised strong objections against the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Heirok in Thoubal district.

A public meeting was held in this regard at Heirok Part 2 Umang Laikol where the meira paibis resolved to stand against the deployment of CAPF at Heirok.

The Central government has reportedly planned to station 50 companies of CAPF in 13 districts of Manipur, concerning the ongoing violence in the state. The Meira paibi also resolved to demonstrate a rally in the Heirok area against the deployment of CAPF in the area.

During the meeting, they expressed concerns regarding the government’s measures, stating that the government is trying to arrest the Village Volunteers Force.

Highlighting the diligent efforts of Village volunteers, they asserted that village volunteers have been protecting the state territorial integrity.
