Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited border town, Moreh in Tengnoupal district on Friday and reviewed the security situation of the district.
He was briefed by Brigadier Ved Pal, Commander, 26th Sector, Assam Rifles at the Battalion Headquarters of 5th AR at Moreh.
IGP, Kabib K, senior officers of both police and AR, and other district level officers were also present at the briefing. He directed the officers to work for ensuring safety and security to the people in the district.
He met the representatives of CSOs where they apprised about the administrative problems faced by them. He further assured that all required measures will be taken up for finding the solution to their grievances.
He later inspected the Indo-Myanmar border fencing in Moreh town and interacted with the BRTF officers. The officers briefed him about the progress of the fencing works. He also met and distributed relief materials to the IDPs staying at relief camps opened at Moreh Higher Secondary School and at the Battalion Headquarters of 5th AR.
