Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Sunday expressed happiness to learn that Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and Bindyarani Sorokhaibam have won Gold and Silver Medals in the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham in Weightlifting category, opening the first medal account of this country.

Mirabai and Bindyarani have made India proud in general and Manipur in particular by these achievements, stated a release issued by Governor’s Secretariat, Raj Bhawan, Imphal.
This will, indeed, act as an inspiration for their colleagues and juniors, it stated. Governor conveys his best wishes to keep up the good work and earn many more medals in their future career, it added.
