Manipur Governor Ganesan, CM Biren, ministers extend Independence Day greetings

Inviting all the citizens of the state to hoist the national flag in their respective residences from August 13 till August 15, Governor La Ganesan urged all the citizens to work together and bring emotional integrity and ensure that every part of the country is developed equally so that there is no sense of discrimination.

Manipur Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and cabinet ministers on Sunday extended greetings and well wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of the Independence Day of India.

In his message, the governor stated that August 15 has been celebrated as the Independence Day of remembering and paying homage to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of India. During the last more than seven decades after independence, India has made great strides in all fields and is targeting to be in the comity of leading nations of the world, he added.

“Technological strides have been made to ensure that no citizen is left hungry or illiterate and progress is equitable," he mentioned.

Inviting all the citizens of the state to hoist the national flag in their respective residences from August 13 till August 15, Governor La Ganesan urged all the citizens to work together and bring emotional integrity and ensure that every part of the country is developed equally so that there is no sense of discrimination.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed pride and delight on the completion of 75 years of independence of India. “For the past more than one year, the glorious history of the people, culture and achievements are being celebrated and commemorated across the country under the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative,” he added. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was also initiated to inspire every Indian to hoist the national flag at their homes in celebration of the Independence Day, he stated.

He invited the people to dedicate themselves to the ideals of democracy and service to the nation in order to become one of the youngest populations to achieve self-reliance in every sector.

Power Minister Th Biswajit Singh also extended greetings to the people on the occasion, and recalled the sacrifices of the patriots who were martyred for the freedom of India. He invited the people to “promote patriotic fervour and carry the rich culture and tradition to develop a national outlook and commitment to make India a global leader”.

Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh conveyed well wishes to the people for the special occasion and urged the people to get involved in the ‘Azadi ka Mahotsav’ initiative and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ to celebrate the history of India. He also invited the people to celebrate the special occasion with a spirit of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India).

Conveying her greetings on the special occasion, Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen paid tribute to all the freedom fighters of India. She urged the people to pledge to protect the nation and save the diversity of India.

Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai also extended greetings on the occasion, and invited the people to remember the selfless sacrifices made by many prominent personalities to achieve the independence of India. “We as citizens of India, should respect and honour their sacrifice by creating a peaceful country,” he added.
