Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Speaker Th Satyabrata have extended their greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious and sacred occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, 2024.
In his greetings, the Governor said that Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of God on this earth.
He said that the festival is celebrated by the followers of Hinduism with gaiety and fervour all over the country. The faithful believe that the Lord undertook His earthly sojourn to teach mankind universal love and ‘Karma’, he asserted.
His timeless teaching of ‘Karma’ to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra signifies the worship of work and carrying out one’s duties without any expectation of reward, he maintained. He further said that it also symbolises the essence of truth and will forever remain the guiding principle of mankind.
The Governor urged all to remind ourselves of the teachings of Lord Krishna and propagate love and affection for all and also wished that the festival ushers in an era of peace and prosperity in Manipur.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh also extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, which falls on August 26 this year.
The chief minister, in his wishes, noted that Janmashtami is the celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu.
The message of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita of following the path of Dharma, dispelling the darkness and lighting the lamp of wisdom in everyone’s hearts, is universal and relevant for every human being, irrespective of religious affiliation, he stated.
He wished that the blessings of Lord Krishna may always be with the people of the State, and also guide the people and the State towards a more peaceful future.
‘May we all be empowered with the strength and wisdom to follow the right path to bring back peace and harmony’, CM N Biren said.
In his message note, Speaker Th Satyabrata mentioned “the Hindu are celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna on 26th August, 2024. The Hindu residing in Manipur are no different. The devotees will pay tribute to the Lord Krishna by offering flowers and fruits to the deities.”
On the occasion he wished the people of Manipur a very Happy Krishna Janma and wished to recall what Lord Krishna had taught to the people through Bhagavad Gita.
