With tension escalating over the past few days due to the ongoing crisis, Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has expressed concerns and appealed for peace and people’s cooperation in developing the state.
A release by the Governor’s Secretariat, Raj Bhavan stated that peace and people’s cooperation are the only means which bring societal development. Manipur, the ‘Land of Jewels’ is not an exception. This state, for a long time, has been an important entity for taking all round development of lndia to a greater height, the Raj Bhavan stated.
However, it has been seen that the state, for the last few months, has been in turmoil, the release stated, adding, some unpleasant incidents gave a severe jolt to the dedicated efforts of the Central and state governments towards restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
And in the wake of the sudden spurt of violent incidents, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has expressed deep concern stating that violence is not the solution to any problem, the Raj Bhavan stated.
Everyone will have to contribute and find ways to overcome this problem, the release stated, adding that in his bid to solve the problem with the help of the public, the Governor is constantly speaking to public leaders, students and the people in general. Moreover, dedicated efforts are being made in this regard, the Raj Bhavan stated.
In view of the present situation, the Governor has appealed to all sections of the society, student organizations and public leaders to work together to establish peace and help Manipur to scale a new height of growth and development.
