Bishnupur district magistrate office on Tuesday notified holders of arms license to submit the licenses along with the arms registered to the respective police stations by March 1, failing which the respective licenses shall be canceled.
A notification issued by the Bishnupur district magistrate informed that the re-verification of the arms license issued as per the provisions of the ‘Arms Act, 1959’ and the ‘Arms Rules, 2016’ and as amended from time to time is required for cross verification and checking of validity etc.

It notified the holders of arms licenses issued by the Bishnupur district magistrate office to submit the arms license along with the arms registered by March 1 to their respective police stations of which the address is indicated in the arms license.
In failure to comply with the notification, the respective license shall be deemed canceled without further notice, it cautioned.

Meanwhile, a notice issued by Imphal West district magistrate Th Kirankumar notified the holders of arms licenses issued by the magistrate to submit the arms license along with the registered arms by March 1 to the respective police station as mentioned in the arms license.
Failing to comply with the notification will result in the cancellation of the license without further notice, it added.
