Amid the panic buying of petrol and diesel in the state with long queues at fuel stations at many places, the state government has called for action against black market sale of petrol and diesel in the state.
Director, Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Government of Manipur, Robertson Asem on Wednesday wrote to the Superintendent of Police of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Noney, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Kamjong districts for taking up appropriate actions against selling of Petrol/diesel in the black market.
It drew attention towards the sale of POL (Petrol and Diesel) outside petrol pumps and in and around such areas by private individuals.
The statement asserted that enough stock of POL products are available in the state, adding that the sale of POL products (petrol/diesel) in the black market needs to be stopped.
It urged to take up necessary action against the sale of POL products in the open-black market in the respective jurisdictions immediately. The same is issued with approval of the competent authority, it added.
