Manipur government clarifies on fake message

"Any procedural matter related to compensation and relief will be communicated officially from the Home Department or the District Administration concerned."

The Manipur government has clarified with regards to a fake message circulating which allegedly came from the Office of the Chief Minister calling on all those in relief camps and affected families to register FIRs in regards to the current crisis in the state.

A clarification from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat by P Gojendro Singh, Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister, states that “there is a fake message spreading on social media that an Under Secretary from the Office of the Chief Minister, Manipur had informed for spreading information to all relief camps and affected families to come forward and register FIRS for property damage, arson etc. and that in the absence of FIRS any compensation will be difficult”.

It is, hereby, clarified that no such message has been released from this office, Gojendro stated, adding that any procedural matter related to compensation and relief will be communicated officially from the Home Department or the District Administration concerned. 

The general public are requested to ignore such fake messages, the Joint Secretary to the CM said.
