Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya led a tree plantation drive carried out at the Raj Bhavan premises in Imphal on Sunday.
The event was held as part of the Prime Minister’s initiative for environmental conservation, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, a release from the Governor’s Secretariat, Raj Bhavan stated.
During the event, the Governor, while emphasizing the need to conserve the environment, urged everyone to participate in the campaign and contribute in building a human friendly lush green environment, it asserted.
In the evening, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Shri Shri Govindajee Temple in Palace Compound, attended the Sandhya Aarti (Darshan) ritual there and offered prayers for restoration of peace and normalcy in the State, the Raj Bhavan said.
