Manipur gears up for Patriots’ Day

The observation will start with a Prabhat Phery at 4 am August 13, followed by the paying of floral tributes at Hicham Yaicham Pat, Moirangkhom at 8 am and at Thangal Temple Complex, Palace Compound at 8.30 am.

Manipur government will observe Patriots’ Day, 2024 on August 13, 2024 and has taken up all the necessary steps to make the observance a grand success.

The observation will start with a Prabhat Phery at 4 am August 13, followed by the paying of floral tributes at Hicham Yaicham Pat, Moirangkhom at 8 am and at Thangal Temple Complex, Palace Compound at 8.30 am.

In the afternoon, a wreath laying ceremony to the Martyrs’ will be conducted at Kangla Uttra led by the Governor of Manipur, Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister N Biren Singh at 3.30 pm.

They will further proceed to Shaheed Minar to pay floral tributes to the Martyrs. The Guard of Honour by the contingents of Manipur Rifles will be given to the dignitaries at the Bir Tikendrajit Park after paying floral tributes at Shaheed Minar. Floral tributes will also be given at the Memorial Stone of exiled Martyrs of 1891.

The main observance at Bir Tikendrajit Park will commence with an opening song by artistes of Shri Shri Bal Mukunda Dev Government Music College followed by speeches of the president and chief guest of the function.

The state government has further urged all sections of the public to participate in the observation on this Patriots’ Day, 2024.
