Manipur Education Minister Th Basanta on Thursday called upon the youths of the state to make use of the two incubation centres established at DM University and MTU. He promised to provide all necessary assistance from the state government in exploring their potential in the incubation centres.
The minister was delivering the chief guest speech during the inaugural function of the two-day "Technovation 2022” at Manipur Science Centre in Imphal West. It was jointly organised by the Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) and Atal Incubation Centre-SELCO Foundation.
Pointing out that the potential of the people of Manipur is incredible and is considered as one of the most talented states in terms of per capita, the minister stressed the need to sustain the talent and encourage young innovators.
"Now is the time to take advantage of the internet to enhance our industries and incubation potential,” he stated, adding the coming five years will witness great development which will be much bigger than the changes witnessed in the last 50 years.
"We will be left behind in this race of advancing world if we cannot take the opportunity and advantage of the evolving technology," he said
Basanta also informed that the government is trying its best to encourage and support innovators and entrepreneurs by ways of formulating programmes and policies apart from introducing various welfare schemes such as Start Ups and others.
Over 30 stalls were opened at the campus of the Science Centre at the Technovation 2022 - innovators meet in Imphal.
The inaugural programme was attended by commissioner of Science and Technology M Yaiskul Meitei; vice-chancellor of DM University M Rajmuhon Singh; CEO of AIC-SELCO Foundation Ditismita Chowbay among others.
