Manipur DGP accepts Inspector Ibotombi’s resignation

DGP Rajiv Singh, had on November 14 issued a transfer order for S Ibotombi, stating that he was transferred to the Manipur Police Training Centre (MPTC), with immediate effect.

Manipur Director General of Police Rajiv Singh has accepted the resignation of Sagapam Ibotombi, with effect from Saturday.

The order issued by the DGP on Saturday, said the resignation tendered by Inspector S Ibotombi Singh, the then OC Jiribam Police Station vide his letter dated November 15, 2024 is accepted.

The statement also added that he is allowed to resign from service with effect from Saturday.

Mention may be made that S Ibotombi, in his resignation letter date November 15 addressed to the DGP, through Jiribam SO, cited unavoidable circumstances of his family and other reasons for taking voluntary resignation from service and urged the DGP to accept his resignation.

Notably, DGP Rajiv Singh, had on November 14 issued a transfer order for S Ibotombi, stating that he was transferred to the Manipur Police Training Centre (MPTC), with immediate effect.

The same sparked protest among residents of Jiribam district, with many demanding to revoke the transfer order. Ibotombi tendered voluntary resignation the next day.
