Restriction of movement of public outside their residences is lifted for Thursday from 5 am to 12 noon for all areas of Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts and while restrictions are lifted from 5 am to 9 am for all areas of Kakching district in Manipur.
Order issued by additional district magistrate, Imphal West K Jadumani Singh stated that due to the development of law and order in the district, there is need to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items.
This relaxation shall not include any gathering/sit-in-protest/rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority, it stated.
However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, CAF and PD, PHED, Telecom, Communication providers, Banking/Financial Institution including ATM cash filling, Petrol Pumps, Municipality, Press and Electronic media, functioning of Courts, Child Helpline, Women Helpline, Elder-line and to and fro movement of flight passengers to Airport and Contractor, Worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Card shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of the relaxation, it stated.
This relaxation shall not apply to any gathering, large scale movement of persons, sit- in-protests, rally, etc. which is unlawful in nature stated the order issued by additional district magistrate, Imphal East RK Dayananda.
It added that all persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, CAF and PD, Municipal Officials/ Staff, Power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), petrol pumps, Media, functioning of Courts, banks including ATM cash filling officials/staff, telecom service providers, officials of Child Helpline, Women helpline, Elderline on Officials duty and to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew.
The order for Bishnupur district stated that no person shall carry any arms of any kind during the period of relaxation for inciting violence such as sticks, stones, and firearms without a valid License, weapons, or objects of any description, which can be used as offensive weapons.
The order issued by district magistrate, Kakching district Rohit Anand stated that there have been reports of certain gatherings of persons outside curfew relaxation hours, with an intent to disturb the peace and tranquility of the district.
This relaxation shall not include any gathering/sit-in-protest/rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority, it said.
