Indira claimed that business manager L Ojit and former president A Ronika transferred Rs. 50 lakh from the society’s funds to an unrelated firm.

Indira further accused that Ojit and Ronika are already embroiled in a vigilance case, however, higher authorities have been shielding them by suppressing related documents.

Indira made these claims during a press meet at her residence in Soibam Leikai, Imphal East, on the sidelines of the society’s election held on Friday.

She also called for the election to be declared null and void, citing that eight of the 15 candidates had sought a postponement due to the recent floods in Imphal and government announced holidays.

The former board member vowed to take the matter to the ministry, urging the authorities to intervene and cleanse the corrupt system within the society.
