The five Manipur police commandos who were arrested in possession of a huge quantity of drugs worth Rs 3.35 crore have been remanded in police custody.
According to sources, the five police personnel were produced before the court of CJM, Thoubal on Tuesday and have been remanded in police custody till January 27.
The police commandos who were produced before the court were Havildar Kh Achouba Singh of Manipur Police Training Centre (MPTC); rifleman Th Subhash Chothe of 7th MR; constable Y Dineshwar Meitei of Imphal West District; rifleman M Premchandra Singh of 6th MR and rifleman N Dorendrajit Singh of 6th MR, all attached to the Commando Unit, Kakching.
It may be mentioned that the five commandos were arrested along with 100 soap cases containing suspected heroin and eight bundles of suspected WY tablets by a combined team of District Commando Kakching and Pallel police on Imphal-Moreh road along National Highway-102 on Monday.
