Manipur Congress Youth president Popilal gets interim bail

The court,  in view of the death of his grandmother as well as non-availability of the detailed report of the FIR case, granted interim bail to Popilal.

Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee president (MPYCC) Ningthoujam Popilal has been granted interim anticipatory bail in connection with the FIR registered against him at Lamphel Police Station.

The court of Session Judge, Imphal West, on Thursday granted the interim anticipatory bail to  N Popilal, and directed the Lamphel Police to submit the details of the FIR registered against Popilal returnable before February 16.

Ningthoujam Popilal (28), son of Ramesh of Phayeng Mayai Leikai, filed an anticipatory bail application under Section 148 CrPC in connection with the FIR lodged against him at Lamphel police station.

Public prosecutor submitted that OC Lamphel PS requested to fix another date to submit the detailed report of the FIR case.

Considering PP submission, the investigation agency has given another date to submit the report, on or before the next hearing.

Petitioner counsel submitted that the grandmother of the petitioner died on February 14 and their family are in deep sorrow. It is also stated that the petitioner is to attend all the ritual ceremonies of his late grandmother.

The court,  in view of the death of his grandmother as well as non-availability of the detailed report of the FIR case, granted interim bail to Popilal.

The court stated that in case of arrest in connection with the FIR, the petitioner should release on interim bail on furnishing of PR bond Rs 30,000 with one surety of the like amount.

The court put conditions that he should cooperate with the investigation, he should make available before the investigation authority, he should not influence prosecution witnesses and he should not leave the state without prior permission of the court.
