Manipur Congress president criticises BJP government in Parliament

In a scathing critique of the BJP-led government, K Meghachandra, the president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), on Monday lambasted the ruling party for its handling of Manipur state within India.

Addressing the media at the Congress Bhawan in Imphal, Meghachandra highlighted the recent remarks made by Rahul Gandhi during the Lok Sabha session on Monday.

"The question raised by the Opposition, 'Isn't Manipur a part of India?' on the floor of the Parliament is a shame to the BJP government," Meghachandra declared, emphasizlsing the gravity of the issue discussed in the country's largest legislative gathering.

Stating the global implications of raising Manipur's concerns in Parliament, he said that such discussions amplify the state's plight on an international scale.

Further conveying the recent developments, Meghachandra disclosed the MPCC's recent meeting with senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. 

He noted that both AICC leaders have assured additional speaking time for Manipur's MPs, if time to all MPs to speak.
