Manipur Congress leaders reach New Delhi

According to sources, Congress MLAs K Ranjit and Th Lokeshwar began their journey to Delhi on Sunday while CLP leader O Ibobi, CWC member Gaikhangam, and MPCC president K Meghachandra will be departing from Imphal on Monday.

As the Parliament session is set to commence on June 24, senior leaders of the Manipur Congress are traveling to the national capital to ensure that the ongoing crisis in the state is tabled and discussed.

According to sources, Congress MLAs K Ranjit and Th Lokeshwar began their journey to Delhi on Sunday while CLP leader O Ibobi, CWC member Gaikhangam, and MPCC president K Meghachandra will be departing from Imphal on Monday.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with prominent AICC leaders, including president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, on June 25.

MPCC president K Meghachandra stated that the purpose of the visit is to ensure that the voices of Manipur are raised in Parliament by the elected MPs from both the Indian National Congress (INC) and the INDIA Bloc, including the two representatives from Manipur.

He emphasised the need for the nation’s lawmakers and the NDA government to address and resolve the 14-month-long unrest in Manipur as swiftly as possible.

As the Parliament session begins on Monday, attention will be focused on how the issue of Manipur’s crisis will be addressed by the nation’s lawmakers.

Manipur crisis is one of the important issues to be raised by Congress leaders in the parliament and newly elected MP Prof Angomcha Bimol Akoijam would be playing a key role in presenting the Manipur viewpoint.
