The protest demonstration was a part of the nationwide protests against the controversial farmers’ bills which were passed in Parliament recently.

MPCC president Moirangthem Oken, Congress Legislature Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh and other party leaders took part in the protest.
MPCC observed ‘ Kishan Mazdoor Bachao Divas’ (Safe farmers and farm labourers), demanding immediate withdrawal of the bills. The sit-in protest was organised by the Kisan Congress, MPCC.
