Manipur chief secretary, DGP asked to file stand on burial site

A PIL was filed before the Manipur High Court by International Meeteis Forum to protect and prevent the government land from being misused as a burial site.

The Manipur High Court on Wednesday asked the chief secretary and DGP of Manipur to file their stand regarding the misuse of a ‘sericulture farm’ which is a government land into a burial site.

A public interest litigation was filed before the Manipur High Court by International Meeteis Forum to protect and prevent the government land from being misused as a burial site.

The petitioner with a request to the HC appealed to submit the PIL, stating that there is an urgency as the date of burial of deceased persons has been fixed on August 3.
