BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda condemned the ongoing violence and appealed for the release of six captives, including two minors and an infant, held by militants in Jiribam.
She was speaking at the state party head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal on Thursday.
“The recent incidents are deeply regrettable. I appeal for the immediate release of the captives on humanitarian grounds,” Sharda stated.
As the party president, Sharda mentioned that she has been in constant communication with the Union Home Minister and other central party leaders to highlight various issues aimed at protecting the public.
Her team recently submitted reports on the escalating violence to the Governor of Manipur in Guwahati. During the meeting, Sharda urged the Governor to take necessary steps to protect the people of Manipur.
However, she denied taking further queries from the media.
