Manipur Legislative Assembly on Monday passed a total sum of Rs 9951,84,61,000 of seven different grants moved on the assembly floor by the leader of the House N Biren Singh, during the third session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on Monday.
The seven different demands were moved by leader of the House N Biren Singh, who is also chief minister, on the assembly floor during the discussion and voting on demands for grants for consideration.
Among the seven demands, opposition MLAs, K Ranjit Singh and Th Lokeshwar Singh raised motion for disapproval of policy cuts on Demand No 17 (Agriculture), Demand No 18 (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Including Dairy Farming); Demand No 20 (Community and Rural Development).
The demands include Medical, Health and Family Welfare Services with a sum of Rs 1919,67,30,000; Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development with Rs 1038,09,10,000; Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution with Rs 171,69,98,000; Agriculture with Rs 391,60,47,000; Animal Husbandry and Veterinary including Dairy Farming with Rs 194,25,36,000; Community And Rural Development with Rs 4754,58,12,000 and Planning with Rs 1481,94,28,000.
After deliberations on the policy cut motion raised by the opposition MLAs, the concerned ministers gave clarifications for the respective policy cuts. Later, the policy cut motions were withdrawn and the House passed the seven demands unanimously.
