Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Friday appealed to citizens of the state to avoid any form of violence and exercise their democratic franchise without any fear as the 12th state Assembly elections, 2022, will be held in two phases - February 28 and March 5.
The governor emphasised the need for smooth and peaceful election process to ensure all eligible people in the state take part in the democratic process freely and fairly.
“I sincerely appealed to all the citizens of the state to exercise their democratic franchise with free and without fear as this right will determine the destiny of the people in the coming five years,” the governor stated in a release issued on Friday.
Ganesan expressed the hope of cooperation of all organisations in the democratic process.
“I also appeal to all concerned in the hills and valley district to avoid any kind of violent activitiesso as to enable the people to exercise their franchise freely and fairly. I am quite optimistic that every organisation will cooperate in this democratic process of the state.
