A combined security force seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Khongyam Heirikokthong area under Wangoo Police Station in Kakching district, Manipur on Thursday.
According to police, a combined team of BSF 131-G Coy, CDO Unit Kakching led by OC/CDO- Kakching and Wangoo Police OC conducted a joint search operation at Khongyam Heirikokthong area from 8 am to 10.30 am.
During the search operation, the team seized one carbine along with a magazine loaded with six numbers of 9mm ammunitions, two air gun pistol, nine numbers of .36 HE hand grenade, four numbers of detonators of .36, one para 2” motor shell, one HE 2” shell bomb, one country made shell, 48 empty cases of 7.62mm SLR, 13 stun shell, six tear smoke shell, five strenger cartridge, three anti-riot double blast and two numbers of 12 bore cartridge.
One Insas LMG magazine, two baofeng set with battery, three numbers of BP vest, two camouflage half and full sleeve shirts, one pair of leather boot, 24 empty cases of .303, twelve empty cases of AK rifle, one LN key, six tear smoke bomb, one top Myanmar super quality bag and one white crystal sugar bag were also seized. A case has been registered at Wangoo Police Station for further investigation.
