As many as 8,000 fish fingerlings of various species were stocked on Sunday in Melei Tampak Society pond at Heirok to boost fisheries resources in Manipur.
The stocking was carried out by the Ching-Tam Multipurpose Cooperative Farming Society Heirok Part-II, under the supervision of Manipur Fishery department Director Heisnam Balkrishna.
The event was attended by Heirok Zila Parishad member Rajmani, Pradhans of Heirok Part-II, Heirok Part-I, and Heirok Part-II, as well as social workers N Bimol and H Boyai, alongside club members.
