As many as 16 students who went missing from the Peace and Freedom Academy hostel on Monday morning in Thoubal district were successfully rescued near Lisham Lok around 2 pm on the same day.

As per sources, the students, all in the 10th standard, have been handed over to their families. It is learnt that the school authorities filed a missing persons report at Thoubal Police Station and notified the families after discovering the students were missing.

In a statement, Peace and Freedom Academy superintendent NG Koni Moyon expressed gratitude to the Arambai Tenggol Unit 1 for their cooperation and swift action during the rescue.
