The body of the deceased was examined by forensic team from Imphal after which it was sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal for post mortem to ascertain the reason of the death, the sources said.

Although the police have declined to comment on the issue as the case is under investigation, the sources said that M Chinkhanlian, son of (L) M Tualkam of V Munhoih village, in Churachandpur was arrested under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was kept in police custody since the evening of February 8, 2022.
