Man found hanging in Churachandpur

The body was discovered by villagers of Teijang Village around 5 pm on Thursday.

A Nepali man was found hanging at the forest of Teijang Village under Henglep Sub-division in Churachandpur district on Thursday.

The body was discovered by villagers of Teijang Village around 5 pm on Thursday. The said forest is located around 11 km North West of Churachandpur Police station.

The body has been collected by Churachandpur police and a post mortem examination was conducted at RIMS Mortuary on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as one Krishna Goutam, 62, son of (L) Kadar Goutam. He had been living at Teijang village and was working as a herdsman for the past 18 years, according to his family. He had married a woman from Kanglatombi and they have two children who are studying at Siliguri. Her wife is also staying with the children.    

Krishna had gone out from his in-laws’ residence at Kanglatombi for Churachandpur around 10 am on August 8, as per sources. Although the post mortem examination has been already done, the body will be kept at RIMS Mortuary until the family members arrive to collect it.
