A man succumbed to his injuries at RIMS after falling from a tree around 11 am on Tuesday at Khurkhul Makha Leikai under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district, sources said.

The sources said that the deceased has been identified as one Mangsatabam Khamba ,52, son of (L) Iboton from Loitang khunou Maning Leikai. The incident happened at the garden of one Heikham Punshi in Khurkhul Makha Leikai. He fell from the tree while trimming its branches.

A suo moto case was registered at Sekmai Police Station in connection with the incident and the body kept at RIMS Mortuary. However, the case was withdrawn later after the family of the deceased and the owner of the tree reportedly reached an agreement, the sources said.
