Although the wife of the accused reportedly witnessed the crime that took place on March 30, she lodged the complaint late due to lack of legal knowledge, the police said.

On acquiring the medical report from RIMS and the interrogation report of the accused, the police on Tuesday produced him before the Special Judge (POCSO), Imphal East with a prayer for a 15-day judicial custody and further investigation.

The court remanded him in 15-day judicial custody till April 19.
